Edmonton | Fort Saskatchewan

(he/him)

Garrett completed his Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Macewan University. It has always been Garrett’s greatest passion to help others achieve their wellness goals. He believes that all successful counselling occurs within a safe, trusting and authentic relationship, which he strives to genuinely cultivate with each encounter. Garrett strives to hold space for his clients so that they are able to experience their feelings in a safe place without judgment and for them to fully allow for emotional expression, connect with themselves and foster self compassion and acceptance.

In order to flexibly meet the needs of his clients, Garrett utilizes an integrative approach that pulls from several effective evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Motivational Interviewing.

Garrett is a compassionate and growth-oriented counsellor dedicated to helping others on their personal life journeys. Having studied and worked in the mental health field for the majority of his adult life, he has a broad range of experience counselling adults of all walks of life. Garrett is passionate about helping his clients deal with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD and trauma, work-related issues, gender identity, sexual concerns, stress, body image, sleep issues, grief and loss, as well as life transitions.

“Wherever you may be on your journey through life, that is where I will meet you to begin the process of healing.” ~ Garrett
